A young girl wants to be an actress. She’s playful and curious, until one day, on her way home from school…
Years later, without any obvious trigger, her chest and her stomach begin to burn. Her jaw bleeds. She looks for answers, but the doctors tell her she’s fine. Her mind unravels as she tries to deal with chronic pain, trauma and the expectations she cannot meet.
HEALTH IS A PRIVILEGE is an avant-garde one-woman play about invisible pain. Humming with quiet rage, Health is a Privilege will make you laugh out loud at inappropriate moments and offer solace to anyone who has ever sought help and been told there’s nothing wrong with them.

Simonetta Gibejova
Simonetta Gibejova studied acting and music at The Private Conservatoire of Dezider Kardoš in Prešov, Slovakia. Since moving to London in 2018 to pursue her career in performing arts, she has made notable appearances in various TV, film, and theatre productions.
During COVID, Simonetta started creating short films, the first of which, Window in a Cave, was selected for the Paradise Film Festival 2021. Her play Health is a Privilege, evolved from the short film of the same name that won Best Costume Design at the Warwick Film Festival.
